Goals and Visions
The goal of Future and Hope is to participate in ensuring that the street children actually get a Future and a Hope. This happens by giving the children schooling and education, support and advice and an introduction to the Christian gospel and view on life. This gives them tools to break away from their social inheritance and to become pattern breakers in their local society.
IT'S IMPORTANT THAT THE CHILDREN GET AN EDUCATION
The staff at the Childrens Village motivates the children to attend and participate in the schooling. They help the children with the homework and supplement the school lessons. In this way the children experience that they succeed and they grow in both the eyes of themselves, in the eyes of their teachers and in that of their friends.
The personal education and selfconfidence is also an important focus area, if the children are to leave the street. The children gain this by lifelong contact and advice from the staff. When the children move away from the Childrens Village to continue their education – or to get another education, the leaders still stand as the parents of the children, and the children will always have a home in the Childrens Village.
The local priest from the Lutheran Church has the responsibility for a Christian education and baptism of the children in the Village. In these lessons the children will hear that they are a precious asset and that there is a God who loves them exactly as they are. It is not a requirement that the children who live in the Village must be Christian in order to stay there. But is is important that they get the chance to hear about Christianity.
