Become a volunteer
WOULD YOU LIKE TO EXPERIENCE AFRICA?
As a volunteer in Future and Hope you will experience Tanzania in a very special way. You will not arrive as a tourist but as somebody who together with you experiences also can do an effort to help the street children of Sumbawanga. You will get in close contact with the daily life of the Tanzanians. You will experience joy and dancing but you will also meet with the problems and trouble that is a prot of most Tanzanians life. You will also meet volunteers and other people, who have decide to live in this part of the world in order to help the people there.
Your work as a volunteer will consist of helping on the homes, but you will also have the possiblity to tailor your own stay and offer any special competences you pocess. Are you good at ball games – maybe you can start a sports club. Are you good at needlework, maybe you can teach this. Are you good at writing, maybe you can start a journalist group who can write columns for the Danish newsletter. Only your fantasy sets the limits. With the proper attitude, desire and flair for children you will come to love them – and they will love you. You will get an experience, which you can never forget.
In order to become volunteer in Future and Hope you must be at least 20 years old. You must be willing to go for at least 6 months and have desire and courage to live in a culture which is very different from the one you know in Denmark.
Future and Hope will help you to arrange it all. A 6 month stay costs about 25.000 DKK which includes airplane ticket, visa and residence permit, insurance, transportation to and from Sumbawanga, Swahili language education in Tanzania and a place to stay. You are always welcome to contact Future and Hopes project coordinator Per Clausen (+45) 26820107 - or to send an email to the address: firstname.lastname@example.org
A volunteer task is not neccessarily meant for the young people. It could just as easy be seen as an option for the elderly generation.
Sometimes there is a need for the respect which ”grey gold” enjoys in Africa, and there are useful tasks for all ages. Former senior volunteers work has consisted in building the houses in the Bethania Cheldrens Village. Today we need volunteers who have experience in farming and who can advice about the keeping of animals - or how to grow the crop in the best way.
We recommend a stay of at least 3 month. This is both for your own sake, since it takes time to adjust to the life and the way of work in Tanzania – but also for the sake of the children in the homes, who can find it hard with ever changing people. Future and Hope will assist you in arranging it all.
Contact projektcoordinator Per Clausen at (+45) 26820107 and talk with him about becoming a senior volunteer.
